What do you mean by 256 bit core?

For example: The new console has a 16-bit CPU, but limited to an 8-bit bus, it also has a 16-bit video chip, and an 8-bit audio processor.

1024 bit r/w for color
1024 bit r/w for depth
512 bit ro for texture

Are you sure this is correct? For example:

The GeForce 256 is the original release in Nvidia's "GeForce" product-line. Announced on September 1, 1999 and released on October 11, 1999. The "256" in its name stems from the "256-bit QuadPipe Rendering Engine", a term describing the four 64-bit pixel pipelines of the NV10 chip.

Those are the width of those memory buses yes.
If you are talking about drawing the GS draws 16 or 8 pixels a cycle depending on if texture mapping is enabled and it processes 32 bit pixels so by your logic that would be 32x16 or 512 bit.

Just sounds like a bunch of marketing to me.
