Is It My PC specs causing lag / slow gameplay and sound?
#1
I've been able to play some games just fine. But lately I'm seeing more and more slowdown. Burnout 3: Takedown - worked great. Nice and fast. Need for speed Underground 1 - nice and fast with random slow spots randomly. Medal Of Honor: Frontline - mostly fast but got laggy from time to time for a second or two here and there. Booted up Need For Speed Underground 2 tonight and as soon as I get to the first menu, it drops down to 43FPS. Its almost unplayable and its consistent as well.

* Gigabyte AB350 Mobo
* Radeon RX 580 8GB
* 32GB DDR 4 RAM
* AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2Ghz 6 Core Processor

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Your pc spec is fine, seem to be other issue causing the lag. Btw what setting are you playing in ?
Have you played in default setting ?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

early ryzen processors might be a little weak to run a certain games.

frontline is considered laggy including running on the real PS2,rising sun is even worst game ever built,EA is terrible on most PS2 games.
don't blame your PC and pcsx2 it's EA then.

Hi There - so I just ran a test gameplay. The gameplay itself held a steady 60fps. Whenever I was in a menu though thats where there was sound and visual lag. This was playable though. I'm not sure what has changed since before.....The main gameplay was steady....so I'm confused.....I recorded this in OBS as well and the playback was smooth too. Whereas before, when I made this thread the gameplay was sooo laggy that it was just not playable. Anyhow, any feedback is welcome. Here's the log - thanks for your input:

Maybe you used Ogl renderer the 1st time.
It won't work well with AMD gpus

I'm not sure. I had made some tweaks to try and get the best quality I could based on some youtube recommendations and those worked great with NFS underground 1 and Burnout 3 and even Frontline was mostly solid. So I'm not sure what the deal was here. honestly, I don't know why last night NFSU 2 worked during gameplay when the other night it didn't.

I've attached some of the settings that are in place right now.....
