Is This Normal For My PC ??
#1
hi,i'm new in this forum.
I've recently installed pcsx2 to try some old games but unfortunatly they lag too much, very unplayble. The point is that i've read about people that, with a weaker pc than mine can run this emulator better.i would like to know if is normal for my pc to have so creepy performance and graphic bugs (i've tried all the combination of setting possible, and make sure to have high performance on energy setting of my pc,HD is deffragged) i have also an psp emulator but it run magnificient even with best quality setting.
Laptop :
CPU AMD FX 7500 quad core 2,1 Ghz,turbo core 3,3Ghz
8GB ram
GPU amd R7 m260DX 2GB (dedicated)
1TB HD
Windows 8.1 64bit

Your PC is too slow for PS2 emulation. There is nothing that you can do.

Please point out where you saw people who have a weaker PC who can run it better, because that ain't happening.

That's your CPU. See the single threaded rating? It's 1128. You can only play 2d games and really super light games with that in PCSX2.

Most games need 1600+

That is not much slower then my cpu and i able to some rather demanding games like Xenosaga at 60 fps @ 3x as far stp goes, granted the avrage cpu mark is good 1600 more or is this more amd thing? and PCSX2 just running better on intel?

920 - 1158 STP

FX 7500 - 1128 STP

Maybe the fact that my pc is a laptop make pcsx2 slowly in adding that quad core is not supported

PCSX2 will take advantage of 3 cores if you enable the MTVU speedhack, it might help a bit if you aren't already using it

There is no way. I can't full speed Xenosaga even at 4.4Ghz where my STP is 1600.

Or are you using speedhacks? And like, lots of them? And remember, Xenosaga + MTVU = slowdown on AMD but not Intel.
