Is a 2.13 Dual core processor too slow for this?
#11
Pushed it up to about 3.08, and temperatures look fine. Game is running fine too, except FMVs are choppy--not to hijack my own thread but anyone know how to fix it? In game runs smooth at 60 FPS, but the FMVs fluctuate from 60 to 30 to 60--pretty annoying.

Aaaand just got a BSOD so I put my processor back to normal--not sure if it was the overclock or the game, but better safe than sorry. Maybe I'll try again later with a lower speed.

Speedhacks enabled? turn them down to 1.5x Cyclerates. 2x/3x will give you choppy FMV's. Vsync enabled? If yes, turn it off.

There are no known issues with FFX FMV's, only with FFX-2.

What is your GPU (graphic card) type? As far as I know PCSX2 (GSDX, ZeroGS) isn`t so GPU-intense.

Well ... it`s integrated, so yeah - maybe it needs an upgrade. Sorry. :-)

When overclocking, it's best to turn the CPU up in small increments and run Prime95 for at least an hour to check for errors.

And it`s good idea to set exact voltage to RAM and CPU (recommended voltage by manufacturer), because some MBs are increasing the voltage automatically (when it`s set to AUTO).

It was my crappy dvd drive, I made an ISO of the disc and the FMVs are perfect now. Still get some slowdown with my processor overclocked to 2.56 ghz, but it's very playable. Just kinda bad in big open areas.
