XII is a little bit heavier so wont run 100% (most likely 80%)

however you are lucky
here there are many stores selling seperate laptop cpu's as well
so you can just replace the one in it (i wouldnt do it yourself but let a computerstore do it for you, cause if they break it, its their fault)
a seperate T9600 goes for about 260 euro here

Socket P
Speed 2.8GHz
CPU Core Dual
Bus Speed 4x266MHz
CPU Cache Level 2 6MB
CPU Cache Level 3 6MB
status (CPU) Boxed
Thermal Design Power 35W
CPU sSpec Number SLB47

and a Q9000 goes for about 300 euro here wich is a 2GHZ quadcore

The T9600 looks like a real good option, only thing I am worried about is bios support for the chip.

just update to the latest bios version, if its newer than the release date of T9xxx it should be ok
and if there are laptops in the same line with T9xxx your fine as well

do note that i am not 100% certain of this but i do know of a friend that changed his T7300 to a T9600 on an acer aspire 5920G and there were no issues at all

Right now I have a P7350 now, and the bios date is at 08/28/08. So I will look into it.

hmm then i suggest going for a P processor
wich are slightly more expansive

Processor-clockspeed 2660 MHz
Processor P9600
Front-side bus processor 1066 MHz
Installed processorcache 6 MB
Processor-productionproces 45 nm
Processorfamily Intel Core 2 Duo
Boxed No
Processorsocket Socket P
Stepping E0
Usage 25 W
Maximal temperature 105 °C
64-bit computing Yes
Processorcode SLGE6
L2 cache speed 2.66 GHz
Bus/Core ratio 10
VID Voltage Range 1.050 - 1.212 V

why get a new system if the old one can be upgraded to better cheaper Smile

Well I can upgrade my lappy now until I can afford my uber rig I am collecting for. Smile 4 Monitors, Core i7, Dual Video cards, 12Gb Ram running one monitor while gaming, in crossfire or sli. 8-) Maybe I can try some PS3 emulation lol.

For anyone that is interested I have been running FFXII for the past few days I get full speed with occasional lag that doesn't effect game much at max ~40% Cpu if I could get it to use more I think I could pull off better resolutions than Native but it works for me Smile
