Is there a big difference between the normal .exe and the avx2 .exe?

The wiki suggests AVX2 for me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember this being an option. I might be wrong tho, because I haven't touched PCSX2 in quite some time. I just used the updater to get the latest version and I'm wondering if I should use the AVX2 one. Thanks

If your cpu supports avx2 then you should use avx2.

Can I go ahead and delete PCSX2.exe and rename pcsx2-avx2.exe to pcsx2.exe? I have a ton of shortcuts for custom config files that point to pcsx2.exe
