Issue with PS2 Emulator: Character Rotation Problem
#1
Question
Hello,

I was using a PS1 emulator, and everything worked fine.

Then I tried to download a PS2 emulator to experiment with some of its games as well. The game loaded nicely, but when it was time to choose a character or type a name, the cursor was cycling up and down, and my character was moving in circles (back left). I tried other PS2 games, but unfortunately faced the same problem.

What should I do? or where should I direct my request for assistance? Sad

I have tried the following:
  • Calibrating the controller (G-Shark GS-GP702)
  • Cleaning the controller

Let me know if you need any additional information. Smile
I am using PCSX2 v2.0.0, downloaded from the official site.

I have tried "Resident Evil - Code Veronica X" and "Crash Bandicoot - The Wrath of Cortex". Same problem on both.

here are a few ways to test if your gamepad is working, both on your PC and in PCSX2

Testing your gamepad against your PC
You can go to https://gamepad-tester.com/ to test if your PC is receiving inputs from your gamepad. Press any button or flick any analog stick, and the screen should change to detect your gamepad. If the screen is unresponsive, your gamepad is not correctly detected by your operating system.

Testing if PCSX2 is configured correctly
You can download and run padtest_ps2.elf in PCSX2 to verify that PCSX2 is configured correctly. If the button values on screen change, then your PCSX2 PAD settings are configured correctly.

The gamepad is working perfectly on both the website and padtest. I don't understand how the padtest numbers work, but everywhere else the values are 0, except for RXRYLX, and LY, where the value is 127 when I first start the program without touching the gamepad.
