Issues With FPS

So I got the emulator up and running just fine and dandy, but now I'm having issues with getting the maximum fps outta my computer. It's an Asus g72gx series laptop (built for gaming mind) and overclocked it can reach speed up to about 3.0ghz. So here's my problem: I start the game out and it's fine. Running smoothly at about 60 fps give or take. This however is at the start up menus and does little good when it comes to playing the game. Take for instance when I try to play NBA/NFL Street. Once a match has actually started it goes into slow motion with Matrix sounding audio to boot, and the fps drops to around 20-25 fps. I've messed around the configuration for a considerable amount of time and have found no resolution to my problem. Any help or suggestions at all would be lovely.

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.

• Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  
• The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  
• Any non default settings you are using.
  
• What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.
