Issues with PS2 Controller and Niche DS/DS2 to USB Adapter
#1
Hey all,

Unsure if this is the appropriate thread to post this in, but, recently got my hands on a PS2/PSX Controller Port to USB adapter from a company called DreamGear. I found one of these adapters on Ebay brand new in box and decided to use it now that I had the DualShock 2 on hand for use with only PCSX2. Upon opening the box however, what seemed like the driver installation media was in a 3 and 1/4 inch floppy drive, which I don't have a means of accessing.

In search of trying to find a compatible or the same driver,  I eventually was able to find a person who's uploaded the drivers to a website and download them, (even if the website had a broken download link, i was able to download directly download the "supposed" driver regardless).
But, I'm still met with issues even after installing the drivers and making sure I ran the program in XP compatibility mode, and running as Administrator. I've tried the installation process two or three times and I haven't been met with any luck.

The controller's "Analog" light does turn on when pressed, and Windows does recognize the adapter, (not the DS2) as a generic USB Joystick.
But apart from that, when pressing any buttons, or trying to run the Calibration tool, I'm not met with any input whatsoever. And I have made sure the controller was properly connected fully into the adapter.

Are there any solutions I can follow to make this work on a modern Win.10 machine? Or am I going have to move most of my pcsx2 library to a native Windows XP machine?

Thanks.

I have this one myself: https://www.newegg.com/p/232-003E-00008 It simply does NOT work with any modern window, even though windows sees something is connected.

I gave up, got modern wireless xbox controller and didn't look back. If you are on the budget, logitech does some decent usb wired controllers that have all the same buttons as DualShocks. Additionally, many modern games allow xbox control scheme and automatically switch to it when they detect controller input so there's another positive.
