There is a native dualshock 3 support checkbox in lilypad setting but require libusb, did you try it, i wonder how it work ?
As for gamepad wrapper, i perfer this > https://sourceforge.net/projects/scptoolkit.mirror/

I think I will go with the 8bitdo adapters.

pretty sure they come with drivers or some software to translate to windows
dualshock aren't natively xinput
