Joystick configuration

Hi,
I think I'm not making a good configuration of my joystick (some moves in some games are not done), in fact, I'm using SSSPCSX PAD plugin Pressure mod 1.7.0
While confugring, I don't understand what are L3, R3, LX, LY, RX and RY

L3 and R3 are the button presses when you press down your left and right analog stick respectively.
LX and LY (same for RX and RY) are the left (and right) analogue control axis,X being the X axis (left-right) and Y being the Y axis (up-down)

I have the same PAD plugin, but i cannot change LX, LY, RX and RY. How is it possible to change them?

you can only configure it to a gamepad's analog sticks.

I don't have a gamepad. Should I use Lilypad 0.9.9 then? How it works?
