Just a quick question
#1
hey guys. I heard about PCSX2 and I became really excited to use this amazing software. I actually just spend $225 upgrading my PC just so I can run this emulator, but I'm having some trouble, everything it still pretty choppy, but at least it doesn't crash when I try to start a game now.

So my question is: With my PC, can I run this software?

Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0Link
PC Power & Cooling 500W PSU 80 PLUS Link
2 Sticks of G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Link
IntelĀ® Desktop Board D945GCLLink

Oh, I'm also running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit

The overall synopsis (My PC specifications) is here
IGNORE THE GPU AND THE RAM ON THE T5224 SPECIFICATIONS AS THESE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED

Many thanks,
Sheaty

PCSX2 does not run well on Pentium Ds. Some of the faster games may run fine, but most games are just going to run too slowly unless you upgrade your CPU.

Thanks Chicken. I really appreciate it.

So, my PCU, just to clarify, that's my Processor right?

Or is it both my processor and my mobo?

CPU = Central Processing Unit IE your processor. So yes, your pentium D would be the greatest cause for slowdown on your computer.

Yes, as everyone else said, your CPU slows you down the most. Would recommend getting a "real" dual core such as E8400.
Some games might run just fine on this set though. So what game(s) are you trying to play Sheaty?
