KH1 Final Mix (E patch) can't skip cutscenes

So I'm playing a version on bentleys downloaded pcsx2 so i could play the final mix of both kh1 and 2. But when i look at kh1 final mix online lets plays, theres a triangle function and the ability to skip scenes. This version seems to be weirdly patched to where I don't get the triangle prompt AND can't skip cutscenes. Did I get a bad iso? Everything else plays as normal for the FM version. If there's a better ISO for this then I would love to know about it. I just couldn't find a genuine one online with an english patch, and the ones I do find lead me to virus pages. 

I'm using version 1.4.0 of pcsx2 and the game runs fine on it.
