Keeps giving me a continuous loading sign

Trying to play a ps2 game on my mac (maverick).
And this keeps happening. It doesn't ever load, just keeps going.
What am i doing wrong? and what should i be doing?

Maybe you better try PCSX2-CE.

0.9.7 is running natively on your mac but it is quite old. The windows-version 1.0 is highly advanced in comparison to that old version and it seems to work with wine...

anything in particular i would need to download specifically for this model???

EDIT: Errrm. i downloaded it but i wasn't able to open it for some reason. said no application i had could open it

My issue is somewhat similar, Every time I attempt to run a game(burnout 3 and dominator) they freeze on the loading screen or never completely load. If there are any suggestions it would be very helpful.[Image: screen_shot_2014_03_30_at_10_09_38_am_by...7c8nxt.png]

That's because they aren't compatible. I believe they only work with SPU2x

what exactly is SPU2x? Is that a graphics plugin or something else and do you know if I can use that for mac? any information is useful, thank you.

It's a sound plugin for the windows version of pcsx2. I tried booting Burnout 3 with a different sound plugin and it didn't load.
