Keyboard shortcuts don't work sometimes

I use a PS2 controller connected via a third-party USB adapter for my main controls, but I like to use keyboard shortcuts for things like quick saves/loads, slowing down/speeding up the game, taking screenshots, etc.

However, for whatever reason, the keyboard shortcut keys do not seem to always respond. Sometimes they work, but sometimes they don't. This only happens with PCSX2 as well. My keyboard always works fine with everything else.

So my question is, does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?

Press Esc, then click on Resume, the issue should go away. At least on the 0.9.7 beta releases anyway.

If that helps, try setting the Keyboard API in Lilypad Controller plugin settings to "DirectInput" and that should remove the problem completely.
