Kingdom Hearts 1 Crash
#1
Hello all. To get straight to the point, my PCSX2 crashes after I assume control of Sora after the intro cutscene in Kingdom Hearts 1. I've read multiple threads/posts and it seems many people have encountered this problem, but I haven't come across any confirmed solutions yet. In addition, this problem only happens to me in Kingdom Hearts 1; I've been able to play Kingdom Hearts 2 without any issues. Can someone help resolve this problem or point me to a solution? Please and thank you!

I'm currently using XQuartz 2.7.5 (X11), PCSX2/MAC 0.9.6 Lion, and CG Toolkit 3.1.0013.

My macbook specs are:
OS X Version 10.8.5
2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB

The terminal log after the crash occurs is:

Have you enabled a hack manually?
I don't know if this message is normal.

Running pcsx2 on mac natively is not the best idea. Maybe you can try pcsx2-ce or a dual-boot software to run the windows version (that is also much more advanced to the old mac revision.)

Yes; I enabled the "Quick resolve 1" hack (which specifically targets the Kingdom Hearts 1 game) manually after trying to run the game without "Quick resolve 1" because I read on other threads/posts that it might help, but during both instances PCSX2 still crashes. I am aware and do agree that running PCSX2 on OS operating systems is additionally difficult compared to Windows (macs just aren't meant to play games Sad). I'm trying to avoid having to dual-boot but thank you for the suggestion! I'll try using PCSX2-CE and get back to you on that. Thanks!

EDIT: So it seems like using PCSX2-CE does resolve the problem and now I'm able to play Kingdom Hearts 1. I highly encourage others who faced the same problem I did to switch to PCSX2-CE.
