Kingdom Hearts 2 Configuration
#1
So I've gotten KH2 to work on the emulator, but not to my liking.

First of all, here are my specs:

Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core (2.2 GHz)
Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS (512 Mb)
2.0 Gb RAM

The game runs alright, the title screen and stuff runs at full speed, but the bulk of the game isn't that great. I've tried the various speed hacks and whatnot to try to speed it up but none of them seem to do a whole lot. I don't mind the screwy graphics, I just want to play the game at full speed. It jumps between the 40 range to the 60 range randomly depending on the size of the map and whatnot. I would like to play at a solid 60 (58-61, probably).

Could someone provide me with some advice, or maybe config settings, so that I could get this running better? Thank you.

well with that cpu i think that's the best you can get.
Windows 7 64bit
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 OC to 3.6GHz, Intel GMA x4500, 1GB DDR2

My CPU is fine, it runs Fallout 3 without any lag at all...I know 2.2 GHz isn't all that impressive, but could I possibly increase performance enough to play KH2 by overclocking it? I'd rather not if I can help it, but it's the only thing I can think of.

yea that's the best you could do, and pc games don't compare to the pcsx2 emu (ps2) since it takes more for an emu to work than a pc game.

Oh alright, thanks. I was thinking about replacing my hardware soon anyways, so I'll go get my CPU first.

How would a 2.9GHz processor run it? Would it fix my problem?

It might get you between 50-60 unless you also get some more ram?

I'm aiming for these upgrades:

Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core (2.9GHz) [Was 2.2GHz]
4GB Ram [Was 2GB]

*maybe* Nvidia GeForce 9500GT (1GB VRAM) *maybe* [Was 7600GS, 512MB VRAM]

his ram is enough to run pcsx2, unless he also wants to run pc games, just upgrade your cpu and probably your gpu. Smile
