Lag problems
#1
Hi there people.

So, I've been playing a few games like I-Ninja and DBZ Budokai 3.
And I noticed that from time to time you get this weird lag, like everything is running slow and a bit choppy if just for a few seconds, and the buttons on the controller respond slowly.
Anyone got a way to make things faster ?

My System :
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
4GB Ram
GeForce 8800GT
Running Windows 7 64-bit

PCSX2 ver - 0.9.8

Controller - DUALSHOCK 3 using Motioninjoy.

Thank you !

PCSX2 settings? Plugin settings? What do the EE/GS% numbers in game window say when you get slowdowns?

While I can't be sure since I don't have either game, I believe, at least in the case of DBZ B3, that it requires a fairly hefty system. As Shadow Lady said, what are your EE and GS percentages when it slows down? If either are in the 90%+ range, your CPU is likely your bottleneck. You can try using some additional speed hacks or you can try overclocking your CPU if your motherboard supports it, just be careful and do some research if you plan on doing the latter.

hey, thanks for the reply.

As you can see in the pics I attached, the numbers sometimes get even to 100%. although I don't know what it means Tongue

for the plugins :

GS - GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.16
PAD - LilyPad svn (r4510) 0.10.0
SPU2 - SPU2-X r4600m 1.4.0
CDVD - cdvdGigaherz (r4510) 0.8.0
USB - USBnull Driver 0.7.0
FW - FWnull Driver 0.7.0
DEV9 - DEV9null Driver 0.5.0

BIOS - USA v01.60(19/03/2002) Console.

Hope this helps

Means CPU is being your bottleneck.

PCSX2 settings? Plugin settings?

Try reducing the clamp modes to "none", changing the VU recompilers to superVU and try the EE or Vu cycle speedhacks.
If you still get sowdowns after that it's possible you wont get any better results unless you overclock or upgrade your CPU.
