Lagging on Pcsx2 PLEASE HELP

Okay here are my specs and the games I have tried, I usually lag a lot. I'm not sure if : CPU #0, CPU#1, CPU#2, CPU#3 means I have four cores or w/e. But thats what it shows me in everest

CPU Type: 2x , 2666 MHz
AMD Radeon 6550M HD graphics card
I'm running Windows 7 Premium home edition
4GB RAM (3.86 GB Usable)
Acer aspire
640 GB HDD
4 GB DDR3 Memory

the I5 CPU M 480 is actually a dual core cpu with hyper-threading (not quad core),
what games were you trying to run?

I tried Jak and Daxter the Precursor's legacy because that was the only nostalgic old-school game that I remember from my childhood. There are others like Ratchet and Clank but of course they have 9001 graphical errors and half of them don't work. If you remember any good old-school games when you reply please tell me, also kingdom hearts series, final fantasy, and any GTA games are out of the question (I played them WAY to often as a child and I'm STILL bored of them).
