Laptop and Desktop problems!
#1
Here my PC Specs!

AMD Phenom x4 Quad Core 2.5GHz 9850 Black Edition
ATI Radeon 4890 1GB GDDR5 256bit
4GB Ram CORSAIR DOMINATOR XMS2-8500 1066MHz
ASROCK AOD790GX/128M
650W L&C PSU
LG FlatronL192WS 19' 1440x900
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit Service Pack 2

I'm trying to play Forbidden Siren but I have serious lags! The frame rate goes lower than 10 fps at times!

In the other hand, my laptop which is a Turbo-X {Greek Laptops} can play it very good but with some glitches here too!
I play it on the software mode because after the second level it starts having graphical glitches {everything is gray}.
But I have a stable frame rate even on the software mode
Laptop specs
Intel Core i5 2410M 2.3GHz {with Intel HD 3000}
Nvidia Geforce GT 540M 1GB GDDR5 128bit
4GB Ram DDR3
Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit Service Pack 1

My desktop rig is far more better than my laptop but still I get more lags! Any suggestions on both of my problems? {Low frame rate on my desktop rig and everything becomes gray after the second level when using Hardware DX11 or DX9 mode on laptop}

The game I try to play is Forbidden Siren {although mentioned already}.
I tried many options on desktop rig but nothing seems to work....
Oh and yes, everything is updated {From mouse to GPU drivers}.

Right now I play the game on my laptop using DX11 software mode and It's
EE 80-99% and GS 75-90%

you are in software mode that the reasons of slowing than hardware mode
are you currently using Gsdx-AVX.

is the game graphics is terrible on hardware mode?

edit:
btw GsDx-AVX is only for your laptop and not for your current AMD

Well..everything was fine till I reached the third level! Everything became gray and I could only see half my character! So I had to use software mode! I'll try it on my desktop now and see what happens!
I'll post as fast as I can!

So EE goes 90-110% while GS stays bellow 50% most of the time!

I'm using 1440x900 Res but using Native PS2 res doesn't help at all! And DX10 Hardware...

Ok first of all your laptop CPU IS better than your desktop one for PCSX2.

So the game has some bug in that level and the only way to fix it is software mode right? You can try increasing the speed while using software mode by setting SW render threads in the GSdx configuration to 2 or 3 (give both a try and keep whichever works faster for you)

Will it help if I overclock my CPU on my desktop to 3.0GHz?

OK I'll give it a try and I'll inform you! Απο Ελλαδα ειμαι και εγω Wink
