Launching a game
#1
Alrighty, I followed the guide as best I could, but when I launch pcsx2, it takes about 4 minutes to actually reach the ps2 main screen, and is running at about 270fps, and it fails to detect any disk.

Pc Specs:

CPU- Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3.00Ghz
Graphics- ATI HD4850 (Direct X10)
OS- Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit

I can't remember my exact motherboard brand but it's a perfectly capable machine, able to play crysis well.

PCSX2 settings:

Graphics: GSdx9 (MSVC 14.00, SSE2) 0.10.0
@1280x1024 70Hz with direct3D renderer, Pixel Shader 3.0
Linear texture filtering checked, deinterlace checked, enable NLOOP hack checked.

sound: ZeroSPU2 0.4.4

First controller: SSSPSX PAD Plugin Pressure Mod 1.6.9
Second controller: as above
Cdvdrom: Linuzappz Iso CDVD 0.7.0
Dev9: DEV9null Driver 0.3.0
USB: USBnull Driver 0.5.0
Firewire: FWnull Driver 0.4.0
BIOS: Europe v01.60 (04/10/2001) Console

I place Final Fantasy X into my pc's CD drive, and when I try to launch it from the Pcsx2 browser, it asks to find the specific file or something, which I assume is the single file inside the CD that's actually selectable on the menu, it pretty much completely fails to register a disk being present.

It's the european version of FFX by the way.

So is there anything i'm missing? Help would be greatly appreciated, and good work on this project so far guys!

Edit: All other games appear to act in much the same way.

Edit: No matter, it's running, although I do have a terrible framerate, but I guess that's just the way it is.

Nope,FFX should run way fast on your system!
First, use the latest GSdx found here: http://www.pcsx2.net/downloads.php?p=plgn
Also, check MTGS and Dual core options in Config->CPU on PCSX2
