Looking for guidance.

How's it goin folks.

I'm new to pcsx2 and I've spent most of my Saturday so far trying to get it to play my favorite old PS2 game "Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII."

After hours of trolling your fine forum for information, I finally got the game to run, but it seems to be at a slow frame rate, around 35FPS to be precise. Basically everything looks like its in slow motion.

This only happens when running the game. The FPS is much higher during the Playstation load screen.

Basically I'm at the end of the road here mentally. My PS2 refuses to read discs properly anymore so I was hoping to use this to play some old games, but after hours of googling and trolling it seems to be more trouble than its worth. Any help would be appreciated.

Your pc might be too weak to emulate the game, post your specs.
Use the latest beta with the latest plugin pack.
Try ticking native in gsdx, if you have a weak graphic card this should improve frames.
Experiment with speedhacks.
