I tried xaudio. Didn't seem to do anything except make things sound distant. I think I tried direct sound, but don't remember what it did. Maybe I'll try it again tonight, just for kicks.

Would running it from the disc work better for sound?

no, running it from disk make sound more crrapy. Btw what is your pc specification :-).

What is your basis that running the game from its original disc would make the sound be any worse? Huh

maybe the more loading time, and scrached dvds or we can say overall slower then an iso ( i think) :-)

i5 dual core which is 2.4 ghz . I guss its a laptop and remember 2.4 ghz is slow for pcsx2. Maybe thats why you get craapy sound .
