Socom 2 is pretty gpu heavy. That AF is probably killing your framerate.

He has the same GPU I do. There is no way AF is the problem. AF is almost without performance hit on modern GPUs, anyway.

Yeah,

I wonder what the difference is between Socom 2 and Combined Assault. Combined Assault had no problems (other than screen tearing) with those settings, but Socom 2 just lags like crazy.

Differences in the way they were programmed, I'd guess. Different operations on the real CPU have different penalties to emulation time. An operation that was faster on the real PS2 might be slower in PCSX2, compared to one that was slow on the PS2 might be faster in PCSX2. So basically, architecture differences.

Also its no screen tearimg in combined assault. Its spiky polygon syndrome
