Low performance with 1050ti
#1
Hi guys

This is my current spec....
I7 6700
16gb RAM
1050ti 4gb

Is it right that I get better performance using software rendering than utilizing the 1050ti card I have?  For example with Rogue Trooper everything runs at full speed using software but whenever I choose HW (DX or OGL) I'm lucky of I get 70%.

I've updated all my system & video card drivers, checked the guides on here - I really don't know what to do next?

But maybe my card isn't enough?  Oh btw - I'm running everything at native resolution etc - I've upped nothing for testing.

Any advice would be appreciated

Cheers
Steven

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):
[code]
Pasted emulog goes here

Hey, thanks for the reply.  I deleted any previous text before running the test (HW - Open GL).  Previously when I said 70% I was totally out of the park - this time I only got about 25% performance.

(12-29-2021, 08:00 PM)I have the same issue as you with this.  My desktop has same specs with the exception of ram.  I have 24GB but other specs the same including graphic card.  On either version of PCSX (32 and 64 bit) and the newest version of it, my desktop can't run it for crap.  My old laptop with an I7-2860QM, 32GB Ram, and a GeForce GT 555m 3GB can run both versions full speed.  I don't understand it myself.  I have same settings on both systems but my more powerful one runs like garbage.  My other emu work just fine though.... I have the same issue as you with this.

So update:  I downloaded the newer version of 1.70 and apparently the updated files fixed whatever was wrong.  The last 1.70 version i had was from 5 Oct 21 and was just slow as all hell.  This one from today, 29 Dec 21, is running at full speed.  Didnt change any settings from the last time.  Weird......

Hey, thanks for the replies - I tried that, I grabbed the latest version 1.7.2181 and set it up.  Using the basic config I sadly get the same issue.  Leaving everything as default including the native internal resolution I get the game running at about 73% speed at best.  If I switch the renderer to software everything runs perfectly at 100%, no stutter in audio or graphics.

Is it just the game? Has anyone else had issues playing Rogue Trooper?

Maybe this is just the way it is and if it is then that's fine but I had hoped to get a nicer graphical experience by using my dedicated card.  Can anyone suggest something else to try?

Thanks again
