MGS2 Aiming Issue

Is there a button, perhaps, that causes Snake to do that, and you could have configured Lilypad incorrectly?

I just spent 5 minutes in that corrider trying to get that problem but I just don't have it so it seems like a setting that is incorrect. Could you use that camera button on every tab and post them here?

Mind you I'm on r4875 though.

I was going to put the .pngs directly in the thread but they were obnoxiously large and I dunno how to scale them down.

Edit: @MyDreamName - No, there's no button that makes him do that, it's automatic when you face a wall.

Either use superVU as VU recompiler or get the latest SVN build, should be fixed in either case:

I had the same prob once, are you playing sol jp version? I fixed the issue by switching to a newer build. I think it was 4866 but 4900+ should work too, I can't test now

Ooooohhhh that much reading has to be harmful to your health. Ok so I just finished going through what seemed like a million MGS2 related threads, and found the answer. Under the VUs configuration tab, VU0 and VU1 had to both be changed to "superVU Recompiler [legacy]". Tried changing them and voila, muy perfecto.

Thanks for everyone's time, and if anyone from the PCSX2 team ever reads this for some reason, thanks for the great software.

Me finally shooting a guy in the head! (I know, I should see a shrink for getting excited about that.)

Edit: Only VU0 needs to be changed to sVU. Changing VU1 to sVU made certain graphics disappear, like the right half of Snake's body, and all but a tiny portion of pickups like rations. And I somehow overlooked Shadow Lady's response. Perhaps if I'd noticed it I could have saved myself a lot of reading time.
