MGS2, Olga battle - half framerate on 970M
#1
I have minor drops, when I'm under rain on tanker deck, but this part of the game is barely playable. My CPU is i7 6700HQ, GPU - Nvidia 970M, PCSX2 1.4.0. Emulation preset - 3 Balanced. GS settings attached. Some logs also

Tried several advices found here, like skipdraw 1, toggling 8bit textures, different presets - nothing helps. Other games, like KH2, run awesome.
Thanks in advance!

This is because of the reflection of the water on the tanker. Outside always lags like a mofo compared to inside.

Nothing you can really do about it except fiddle with the speedhacks, lower internal resolution (which is already native in your case), etc.

You can also see if Skipdraw 1 helps. It fixes the performance issue you get when you use Stealth Camouflage, might also do the trick there. (At least in my case this happened).

Maybe try using 1.5 instead , also OpenGL will perform better in most cases giving you a few extra fps.

I've found 90% of the time OpelGL is more accurate and hence more demanding. I've almost always got better frame rates with Direct X.

Well you can increase the crc hack level to full to skip some effects , reduce blending to none. That way you will get slightly higher frame rates.
