MGS3 Grainy Mipmaps
#1
I'm using an upscaled texture pack. When the mipmapping is turned on, the terrain instead of being less grainy becomes extremely grainy. The only workaround is disabling mipmapping, which decreases performance. Is there any other fix?

Here's a video of the issue:

oh, sorry.
then, you probably don't have any other choice than disabling it, yes

Why? What's the point of the mipmapping setting then?
I'm using the png format for my textures. I tried making my own mipmaps by converting the textures to dds, but when I load them in-game and enable mipmapping I get the following error:

The program disables my mipmaps and tells me to generate them, even though they're already generated.

i'm not into this, so hard to tell.
Will have to wait for someone who's used to it
