MGS3 Subsistence Crashing
#1
When I try to load my save, it crashes.  I'm currently in the Groznyj Grad cell.  This is my log, and yes, I disabled speedhacks before I obtained this log.  I have no pnach file for this game.

you're using an old and very outdated version we don't support anymore.
please update
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

Additionally use the usbnull plugin until the problem is solved.

Right, never occurred to me to update before. Tongue

Same problem.

Wait, nevermind, didn't read the second message.  Trying that now.

Yeah, I apparently deleted my copy of the null plugin.  Where do I get a new one?

Nevermind, I'm a complete derp.

That did the trick.

Uh, quick question: Is the Guy Savage Minigame supposed to be graphics card intensive or CPU intensive? Because one of them is slowing me down to 3 frames.

If you play at default gs settings almost all games will be rather cpu bottlenecked instead of gpu bottlenecked.

If you play games using very high upscaling almost all (3D) games will be gpu bottlenecked.

A good hint is the EE% value in the top. If that one is close to 100% your cpu is the problem.

Ah.  Yeah, that's my graphics card.  I thought that was the case, it's a piece of s***.

So how did you conclude that it is your gpu?

Especially for this game I would guess your cpu is the issue.

Believe me when I tell you that for that section, my EE was literally about 3%.  Also, the fact that I have graphics problems in plenty of other games, even when my graphics are set to their lowest possible settings.

Yeah, I built my computer to have an extremely-fast CPU, so I kinda skipped out on getting a high-end graphics card.  Guess I went a little overboard, but now I've got a kick-ass CPU that still holds up, even after...3 years, was it?

You're CPU is kind of meh for emulation to be perfectly honest. Don't know what your GPU is though.

For emulation.  For normal gameplay, it's great.
