MGS3: Subsistence - Pre-Rendered Video Issue
#1
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but I'm unsure what to do to fix this issue.

I'm playing MGS3: Subsistence, Disc 1. It seems that the black background for the first pre-rendered cutscene in the game turns into a solid red. The issue persists throughout the entirety of the cutscene from what I've found. I checked the other cutscene where you first meet Sokolov and he briefs you on Volgin, and the background color seems to return to it's original shade, so I am unsure what the issue is here.

I am using a widescreen patch, as well as a couple of patches which are supposed to remove the black bars for the in-engine cutscenes. The No Letterbox and Force 60 FPS codes work. But there's still this unresolved issue with this first cutscene. Here are the codes I've been using:

gametitle=Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence (SLUS_21359)
comment=Widescreen hack by No.47
patch=1,EE,202050AC,word,3F400000

commentcheat=No Letterbox V2 (By SolidSnake11)
patch=1,EE,D025E6A7,extended,00100001
patch=1,EE,2025E6A4,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,D0145990,extended,8C8B000C
patch=1,EE,D01459C8,extended,240F8000
patch=1,EE,D0131758,extended,8E0E0004

comment=Force 60 FPS
patch=1,EE,001D5AD8,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,001D6DB8,extended,00000001
patch=1,EE,001D6DBC,extended,00000000

If anybody can help me solve this problem, I would be highly appreciative.

What if you disable the widescreen patch?
If the problem goes away without using the patch, then it's the patch problem and you have to report it here: https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2-Wi...me-Patches.

Don't expect a fast response though. The activity in that thread is kind of dormant.

Yeah, the issue seems to go away when not using the patch. I just wasn't sure if it was an issue with the renderer or something. It seems odd that it would have an issue here and nowhere else. Either way, I'll go ahead and report it to the thread. Thanks for getting to me so quickly.
