MacBook Air any chance to run gran turismo?
#1
Hello.

I'm having some issues with running gran turismo on my MacBook Air. First off all I run the game on D3D9 plugin which runs the game on 60 FPS (480p) but in race/garage the fps drop to 20-30 which is unplayable. I tried a lot of options but that doesn't help. Now I try to install ZZOgl plugin but having problems with installation. The application says that i must choose pcsx2.app to install the plugin. But I can't find pcsx2.app in these folders to install it. Is there any chance to run GT4 on even GT3 on MacBook Air?

Specs are: Intel Core i5 1,8 GHz, 8 GB ram, Inter HD Graphics 6000 (1536MB)

Your graphics card is the culprit. That Intel card won't give you a suitable performance. Unfortunately, I think you're out of luck as MacBooks only have RAM upgrades available and you can't upgrade the graphics card. Try playing Gran Turismo on a different PC.

The only real solution for Mac users currently is to run PCSX2 1.5.0 with WINE.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

alright. to sum it up :
- GPU is meh
- CPU is weak
- you're trying to run a demanding game
- everything with D3D9 because anyways, the wine package won't be able to use D3D11
- you're "emulating" an emulator when using wine. and thus, needs more resources than a classic windows native package

with all this said, I guess you have your answer

I thought there's an option where you can choose the Windows version from within Wine. I also saw a different program on Mac and it's by the same group that made PlayOnLinux called PlayOnMac. Try it out and see what results you get.
