Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Blackscreen

Would anyone know why the character screen is completely dark? Also when the fight starts only the characters are visible. No background, no effects.

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Specs are as follows:
cpu: amdfx 8350
8gb ram
gpu" AMD radeon r9 290

the only problem I am having is this game and I am running it from ISO. Every other game works fine.

Whoops forgot about my PCSX2 version : 1.2.1 r5873

Try software mode(Press F9 while game is running). Also for that you will want to set extra rendering threads to 4 at the bottom of config->video->plugin settings

Nope...still nothing. The intros and the main menu show fine too.

Did you happen to be using any speedhack or have you changed clamping modes or rounding modes?
