Memory card error
#1
Ok so I've been playing pcsx2 with no problems, various games saving and loading no problem. Then yesterday I started playing GTA San Andreas and it saved and loaded no problem. The only thing I did during this was enable HW hacks to get rid of the "Ghost effect" or w/e. I played a while, saved, then started playing another game and saved just fine. Now today when I boot up GTA it starts a new game, says no save files found, and when I try to save it says "memory card error" or some *****. I've read a few things on here and tried ejecting and re inserting the card with no luck. All my other games I had saved are now wiped and I have to start all over. I'm kind of noobish so I'm not sure what I should do and this is so annoying. Any ideas?

This was an issue which was reported on github here: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/1136

it has since been fixed (at least we believe it has, nobody has confirmed it I don't think) so if you get the latest development build from the link below, it should work fine on there.

I think his case might be a bit different.... his was just a problem of a Memory Card file going corrupt completely it seems, rather than being Game-specific. Tongue

Eject memcard on loading states may occur this. Try enabling or disabling it.

GTA never actually corrupted the entire Memory Card. It was just that it didn't recognize the saves when a space or dot was at the end of the name. Tongue (For the Folder Memory Card system, which I'm not even sure he's even using..)

But either way in his case he said ALL the games stopped working from that point.

^This was never caused by the GTA issue.
