Menu control problems

Hi! I was playing Tales of the Abyss on this emulator, and for the most part, everything works just fine. But when I try to interact with certain menus, both the analogue sticks and the d-pad buttons flick to the side for a brief second and then move back to the start of the menu. I was trying to interact with a character's Artes, but every time I moved the analogue stick, it flicked back to the first Arte on the menu. Why is this happening?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.
