Metal Gear Solid 2 Retail Disc Black Screen
#1
Alright so I'm using an actual copy of Metal Gear Solid 2 (From the Essential Collection) and whenever I try to launch the game it just hangs on a black screen. No Konami logo or anything. Metal Gear Solid 3 works fine, my entire Hitman Trilogy works (Only if I'm in software mode though), but MGS2 just refuses to play. Any ideas on what I can do?

General Specs
CPU - R5-2600 OC'd to 3.9 Ghz
GPU - GTX 980 (At stock)
RAM - 16 GB (2x8 GB sticks) DDR4 clocked at 2666 Mhz

try dumping an iso off your disc.
make sure you use imgburn at its slowest speed to do so.

Well this was for a project where I was only using retail discs but I might have to at this rate. I'll try it though.

this kind of error often shows a damaged disc.
oh, and try latest git build too

I don't think it can be a damaged disc though to be honest, I keep my discs in pristine condition as long as I can. Not a scratch on it as far as I can tell. But I guess it's possible.
