You have a widescreen patch enabled, please disable it and check if it still crashes.

If it does crash, try it with the latest git version: http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php

oh it was the widescreen hack. maybe that's also the reason for rare crashes in the game.

btw skateboard is unplayable in hardware mode (5 fps at most) when it's smooth 60fps in real game. weird.

The skateboarding game uses the Evolution Skateboarding engine, not the MGS2 engine, so performance can be quite different.

even mgs3 works at smooth 60fps at 2K with all those shader effects etc. someone seems to have failed to optimize their engine :Tongue

btw what does widescreen hack actually do? I can still play the game 16:9.

The widescreen hack stretches the screen to 16:9 aspect ratio in MGS3, but as the skateboarding game uses a different engine(so basically a different game), the hack will affect a completely different part of the game that has nothing to do with the aspect ratio, in this case causing a crash.
