There is no need for an installer. You can download the v1.5.0 development release, unzip it and you're done.

You only need to unzip it, copy the bios and memory card folders from your v1.4.0 or older v1.5.0 release and you can start playing. There is no need for a guide.

imagine if every windows update was released like that...

what about if i just copy pasted the updated files into my v1.40 directory,
i updated from like v1.21 to v1.40 to a few more v1.40 then to the latest installer and now v1.5 daily so my files are all over the place

you can do so.
problem is you will get newer plugin versions and keep older ones.
be careful to reconfigure pcsx2 with newer ones.

It'd be so good if every Windows Update was like that.
Unlike the method you have now where you have zero control over which update gets dumped on your computer. Wink

Anyways. This is how I set up my PCSX2 folder:

PCSX2 1.4.0 has a portable.ini file in there so it has its own Memory Card and Plugin folder for testing purposes.

Whereas my v1.5.0 folder makes use of the separate plugin folder (for easy updating, and also to maintain certain patched GSdx plugins for specific games, without having to recopy it every time I DL a new version).
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.60~4.20 GHz | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3200
MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super @ 6 GB | Samsung 980 1TB | Windows 10 Pro x64 (22H2)

The old plugins won't matter the newer ones are improved in every way.
