Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence Post-Processing bug ?
#1
Hello,

I have aproblem with Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence's Post Processing bug.

The game looks kinda like it has no textures in place or no shadows at all.

Here is a picture with the problem:

Now here is a picture with Software mode:

As you can see the game is normal on Software, but the problem is the game runs really slow 30 FPS and with constant dropping of frames to 15 FPS, while sometimes when not doing anything it runs 60 FPS.

Is there a fix for this ?

Specs are:

CPU: i5 2500k OC-ed @ 4.5 GHz
GPU: GTX 980 Ti

I'm running PCSX2 on SSD and it's version is:
PCSX2 1.2.1 latest SVN build v1.3.1-1256

Thanks.

  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Thank You.

- Anyway specse are:

CPU: i5 2500k OC-ed @ 4.5 GHz
GPU: GTX 980 Ti

Okay, I just played it a little more and now there arer other problems also.

The FPS dropped from 60 to 30 (hardware mode) when I enter a new area from the starting one.

And trying to use codec on SELECT button crashes the emulator.

Some glitches might be fixed in ogl renderer on newest git builds possibly using some accuracy options. I think this is one of the games where ogl can only emulate the upper left corner completely correct.

This game is as well really demanding. Please post fps/ee/gs/vu values during slowdowns.

Please post the full emulog after the crash.

Isn't this fixed with opengl now?
#9
Yeah, this was fixed on ogl few months ago. Not sure which one, either the hardware depth option or different blending unit accuracy modes.
We're supposed to be working as a team, if we aren't helping and suggesting things to each other, we aren't working as a team.

How do I enable the OGL mode ?
