Metal Gear Solid crashing on startup

Hi, I recently got pcsx2 and have been really enjoying it with my ps2 games, however when I try to play metal gear solid or any ps1 game for that matter it just crashed after the screen that says konami entertainment japan presents. I have a 1060 and a ryzen 7 2600 and am running the game on software mode with 2 rendering threads.

PS1 mode won't play correctly, it's still in alpha stages.
Use a PS1 emulator like duckstation for this

Try the IOP interpreter mode in the Emulation Settings.
