Metal gear Solid Two Running Slow
#1
My PC

Intel Quad Cor I5 second Gen
4GB RAM

I am just using the integrated video on my motherboard. I had the game running fairly smooth but I goofed up my settings somewhere. Now I'm only getting an average of 15 fps during game play.

Any tips on settings? Is this game just very demanding or what? I recently reinstalled PCS2x. I used to have it set up where i averaged 50 - 60 fps. But I can't remember what my settings were. I'm thinking this game is just very demanding.

Any help? thanks.

Then reset them to default.
They're best settings for u.
To reset to default go to config tab in pcsx2 hit clear all settings.
Note-it won't affect u'r save states & memory card saves.
After reset choose overwrite & reconfigure pcsx2.
See configuration video of pcsx2 if u're not an advanced user.
Then play u'r game.if it slow enable recommended speehacks !

Not sure what settings you may have set that would cause slowdowns where you weren't getting them before, that said the game is definitely very demanding. With integrated HD graphics, make sure you're running in native resolution as anything above is likely to cause additional slowdowns.

It seemed weird because I can run Shadow of Colossus and get 60 fps. Which is why I assumed it was demanding. Other games are doing well too.

Koji u're wrong here.Intel Hd Graphics not that too weak which u all thinking.
Remember Intel Hd is as powerfull as entry level Nvidia dedicated graphic card & i have also Intel Hd so i agree with op.
@ op plz try my suggestion & tell the results Smile

I am using almost default settings. I'm using extra on me EE and VU and I'm getting double fps on Metal gear 2. I configured my GSDX plugin a little bit too. Metal gear is getting 30 - 40 while everything else 50 - 60. But then again Those are entirely accurate and anyone with a nice graphics card would be better off.

Did u try recommended speedhacks first & then if game still slow increased sliders slowly-slowly ?
E.g. ee-1,vu-1 & specially tick Mtvu multi threaded hack in Vu speedhack tab ( i think here u go Wink)

that's exactly why we don't recommend entry level Nvidia dedicated GPU : they're too weak
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Yeah, Intel HD 4000 and below are pretty bad. Okay for web browsing and media servers maybe, but anything else...

I'd recommend buying a mid-level GPU at least. I.e. HD Radeon 77xx series or Nvidia GTX 550/650/Ti versions.
