I was wondering what performance I'd be able to get on MGS3 with this system. (specs in sig)

BTW, does the game work 100% yet? O___o ?

P.S. I have the r1888.

Crappy. I get about 40 fps or lower in many scenes with my Core 2 Duo @ 3,6 Ghz... it's one of the most demanding games PCSX2 can run.

i7 are better cpu's clock for clock than core 2 duo so yep you get better speed's (i also have some moderate playable speeds and from what i found its also a heavy gpu dependant game, most games i play them at x3 -x4 but that one hardly x2)

speedhacks is an option in pcsx2 to make games run faster but there are chances that they will do some nusty staff to your game so you must use only the ones you need and the ones that actually give speed! try also in advanced option in configuration to put both clamp modes to NONE it will give some speed in all games +-
OS: Win 7 Ultimate x64 sp1, MoBo: Asus P5QD Turbo, CPU: Q6600 @ 3,0Ghz, RAM: Trancend 2x2gb 6-6-6-18 800 MHz, GPU: HD 4850 1gb.

IIRC Setting clamp modes will SERIOUSLY mess up the camera in Tekken 5 (might have been 4...). Not trying to dispute your good advice, just one game I found that doesn't like clamps. Smile

there are many games that doesnt like them to NONE. it makes some to not even boot!!! or others will need to set it to full to boot Tongue but if the game works with it on none there its a good free speedup xD

Yah I get 60fps 95% of the time...However during the cut scene it drop to 40-50 fps and sometimes it just skip frames while CPU usage is only @ 50-60%.

I have ATI 4850 1GB.....and using 0.9.6 I'll give your suggestion a try.
Thank you.

it uses 50% of the cpu cause pcsx2 uses only 2 cores of the 4 you have....

use 1888 beta and the march plugins.
