Monster rancher 4 freezing during fight

The problem I had started in the kalaragi jungle. The first time I fight the ogyo "fish" type monster, the screen flickers and the fps still 80-90% like normal but it wont progress passed this point, and the screen keeps flashing off and on. I have tried several different settings, but none seem to work, does anyone have a fix for this problem?

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.

• The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  
• Any non default settings you are using.
  
• What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

I am using psx 0.9.8, believe its the latest. using iso , I have tried the preset and multiple different settings as well as the other graphics plugins that come with pcsx2 but it makes no difference at all.

It worked just fine up until this point in the game.

Give the new 1.0 version a try, see if it helps. It could be an incompatibility though.
