My PCSX2 crashed

Hello,
The main problem I am having is my emulator crashing. Now here is what makes it different, I don't need to run a game, I just start it up, it works fine, until I press a button like "settings" or "scan for new games" and it just freezes up and then crashes. I can't even check my games to see if It is a problem with my BIOS or something but I can start up the emulator but I just can't click anything or else it crashes.

That's all I know about my situation I just deleted my files for the emulator so I can't give immediate pictures of what happens. I mean what would I take a picture of, it literally just exists and then stops.

How can I fix this issue?

No, I don't use any shell replacement

You could try (backing up, then) deleting your settings folder to try and reset something that's wrong, then do the settings again.
