Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L
Core2Duo E4500 2.2GHz/800FSB/2MB
1GB Kingstone DDR2 Memory/667
2GB Kingstone DDR2 Memory/800
160GB WD SATA2 HD
640GB WD Caviar Green
Asus DRW-1814BL

the only downside is my Gigabyte 7600GS 256MB died, and it's in the workshop right now =(

i'm using my onboard GMA x4500 1GB IGP

question is, can i run Crash Nitro Kart with decent fps?

also, since i'm new to this, can someone plz recommend the plugins/settings/..etc for PCSX?

p.s. i haven't downloaded anything yet, not the emulator, the game, plugins, bios, nothing, waiting for your recommendations Smile

thx alot Smile

if you can run it,of course but dont think you will run it fullspeed beacuse that onboard graphics card is just bad for pcsx2.but in order to use pcsx2 you will need to dump the bios from your ps2,then download the latest revision avaible from this forums and give it a try

give it a try how? do i have to load a game in there and see how it goes? or does it have some inbuilt testing capabilities?
#4
ok, i tried it on a game called "mr bean", i only got 8-12 fps ingame Sad
and about 50-70fps during the intro

judging by how i got low fps on "a not demanding" game like that, if the term is correct regarding ps2 games, i will get even lower fps on crash?

any idea how can i tweak the options to get more fps?

i already told you,its no use with that onboard graphics card, any crash bandiccot will be unplayable

ok, but what if i got my 7600gs 256MB video card back?!

will i be able to play? how many fps should i expect?

btw my IGP has pixel shader 4 and DX10, and 1GB of ram! i play pes2010 on it and get 30fps! very playable!

u need at least a 9600 to be able to get playable speeds on some games

even if you could play crysis on maximum with 60 fps it doesnt mean anything for emulation

Sorry to threadjack, but we might as well make this a useful thread for others who might have the same question.

I will be purchasing a gaming laptop soon with at least these specs:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-430M, 2.26-2.53GHz, (3MB L3 cache)
GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5650 1024MB PCI-Express GDDR3
RAM: 4096MB (4GB) DDR3 1066MHzDual Channel Memory

Are those specs enough to run PCSX2 well? I will be playing games such as MvC2, TimeSplitters, Champions of Norath, FF12, GT4, NBA2k10, GoW, Contra Shattered Soldier, etc, etc.

If the above mentioned CPU cannot handle it, I am willing to upgrade to a Intel® Core™ i5-540M, 2.53-3.06GHz, (3MB L3 cache), or even an Intel® Core™ i7-620M, 2.66-3.33GHz, (4MB L3 cache), if necessary to run PCSX2.

Thank you for the help, and my apologies to the OP if you feel offended by my thread-jacking Smile

It's a notebook-- the GPU is what it is. Would you know if any of the i5's are suitable though (I'm not made of cash unfortunately Smile )
