Thanks a lot for the advice...the new version with opengl is far better than the others !
I just don't understand all the gfx options :

Here are my choices :

Renderer = OpenGl (Hardware)
Interlacing =auto
allow 8 bits textures = off
Internal res = 3x
Texture filtering = Bilinear (PS2)
Aniso = 16x
CRC Hack = Agressive (needed for GOW2 ?)
Enable HW Hack = off (???)
Hardware Deph = off (????)
Accurate Date = off (???)
Blending unit accuracy = High (??????)

With these settings no slow down and the game is great.
If you have some others advice or explanation for the options...

Hw hacks are only needed as last hope. Only use them if recommended (maybe except for msaa if you like using it).

Those other options are accuracy options. Enabling them can increase accuracy of emulation. However they will reduce the performance and are not needed for many games. The accuracy drop down is especially crucial. If full works good for you it is a good sign. Some games however will require a lower accuracy level to maintain full speed.

Btw. Accuracy setting also depend on the crc hack level. Crc hacks remove effects. The higher the level the less effects are reendered. Less effects needs less accuracy. More effects more accuracy. Partial crc hacks is recommended for ogl.

Fwiw, if you want the complete emulation, you need also to
1/ enable hardware depth
2/ reduce CRC hack to the openGL level
3/ Set VU cycle stealing to 0 (i.e. don't enable it).

However impacts on perf won't be small.

What is "hardware depth" ?
When i set the CRC hack to the opengl level (partial) i've got shadows (cool) but visual gliche too ( vertical lignes)

It is a more accurate version of the depth buffer of the GS. Typically the strange vertical lines Wink
