NASCAR 08 [SLES-54813]
There are several problems:
1) The game is flickering
2) It crashes in SW mode
3) It seems that WITHOUT MTVU the physics are incorrect (cars of opponents are flying too much after contact)
4) Some textures (engine, cockpit) are rendered in low resolution
5) Menu textures seem incorrect
6) Reflection in mirror seems to be incorrect

I'll check those issues on real hardware on Friday.

Try setting Texture Filtering to "Bilinear (Forced)" in the GSdx settings menu, it might improve the low resolution textures.

The software mode crash seems to affect most NASCAR games like Thunder 2002, NASCAR 06 & 09(see bug report forum).
Bilinear (Forced) helped, but cars are now messed up. I'll check this on real PS2 on Friday.
I know about the crashing, I always try to find solution before posting new thread.
But the flickering is the biggest issue  IMO. Other issues are minor.

Does the whole screen flicker, or just parts of it?

You could make a GS dump of it:

It might help with fixing the issues of all the EA NASCAR games.
The whole screen is flickering. It's not flickering only during loading screens. Here is the GS dump, tel me if it is not enough.
Could you try the preload data hack (for hw renderer)

That makes things worse on the dump. More flickering and vertical lines.
Those vertical lines appear only when you enable the preload data frame hack during the game. It will not happen when you boot the game with the hack already enabled. The flickering is not fixed with it.
