Need controller help

This may be stupid, but I'm wondering, is it possible to play with 3-4 controllers on this emulator instead of just a max of 2. I want to play this game called Champions: Return To Arms with my family, but I can only get 2 controllers working. Is there any fix to this?

I never used that option but in LilyPad the option "Port 1 Multitap" is suppoused to be for that.
