Ivy Bridge is just fine. There are no major advantages Haswell has over the last generation.

Ivy Bridge is on average 5% faster than Sandy, so it doesn't really matter which one you get. I know that Sandy Bridge was a better overclocker than both Ivy and Haswell, though I'm not sure if this applies to the Xeon-based Extreme chips.
