Need help to create a .pnach file
#1
Not sure if this one has been asked for before, but Dynasty Warriors 5 (CRC 6677B437)
I have tried to roll my own pnach file, without any luck. If anyone can help me out with creating one or have one created, that would be very helpful. When I try codes like MAX attack (all characters) the camp shows the stat changes but musou mode does the opposite and DROPS the stats. Here is what I was working with.
gametitle=Dynasty Warriors 5 (NTSC-U)
comment=Max stats

//Max Attack
patch=1,EE,200C2000,extended,341B00C8
patch=1,EE,200C2004,extended,03E00008
patch=1,EE,200C2008,extended,A05B0006
patch=1,EE,20195B44,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,20195B48,extended,08030800

It may be that this way of writing down the codes is the problem, because from a certain PCSX2 version onwards there is a new patch system and the codes have to be listed slightly differently. I assume that you are using a fairly recent PCSX2 version, right? If so, please have a look at this thread. However, if you are still using a PCSX2 version with the old patch system, it is advisable to update the emulator. Unfortunately, i can not tell you if your codes are okay, as i do not own the game. But maybe you will get some more answers. Smile

That is a pity. Did you get these codes from the internet or did you generate them yourself? Perhaps the codes are for the wrong region of the game or incomplete. I still hope you get the right help. Have you already searched this thread for the game? It finds at least a few results.

I went to game hacking.org to find the codes. Double checked the region and it (supposedly) lines up for my copy. And yeah I searched that thread but the closest is the extreme legends version not the original one.

That's the base code. Don't you have to convert it to RAW to use it in pcsx2? Or could you just use it as is?

The above codes are in GameShark V3-4 format. I have converted them to Xploder V4 and they are your posted codes. For PCSX2 with old patch system it would be:
Code:
//Max. Attack
patch=1,EE,200C2000,extended,341B00C8
patch=1,EE,200C2004,extended,03E00008
patch=1,EE,200C2008,extended,A05B0006
patch=1,EE,20195B44,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,20195B48,extended,08030800

And for PCSX2 with the new patch system:
Code:
[Max. Attack]
patch=1,EE,200C2000,extended,341B00C8
patch=1,EE,200C2004,extended,03E00008
patch=1,EE,200C2008,extended,A05B0006
patch=1,EE,20195B44,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,20195B48,extended,08030800

No, do not use the RAW version for the emulator. The RAW version would look like this:
Code:
Max. Attack
HU2Q-08UJ-A197Q
5XZR-TYNK-VTMVD
HXMV-KQ8J-BHN00
BZH3-AUPE-WDG6C
Q9VY-T8VJ-0Z0Q2
X0ER-F1ZT-HW4JX

But i still can not tell you whether these codes are the right ones. I did a bit of searching on the internet myself. You can only hope that someone has the game and your desired codes.

Quick edit: The silliest explanation for this code would be that the description of the code is somewhat incomprehensible and in reality this code only does what it does for you. You may need another different code to make everything work as you expect it to. Laugh

So after testing that code in all versions of PCSX2 it appears to be a faulty password or me no smirt
