Need help with Tales of abyss...

I just starting using pcsx2 yesterday, I was playing tales of abyss when I noticed that the 3rd member of my party is under player control while I am controlling the 1st member. I have set my pad 2 in controller setting as unplugged but it is still not working. How do I remove 2nd player?

by setting the control to "Auto" "or "semi-auto".
If i rememebr well, you need to press "select" during battles to change this.

take your finiger and press the "select" key of your pad during battles (or the keyboard key you assigned to "select")

Thank you, it helped I had actually pressed start instead of select it worked now...
